Happy Anniversary!

What a difference a few months make...

Crazy how big Carter is now!  The picture on the left was taken April 5th - the first time he sat in his swing and the one on the right was taken on September 9th!

Do I look like my mommy?

I was looking through some old pictures and came across one of me at 5 months and thought I would compare a picture of Carter at 5 months, too. I think Carter has my nose and chunky thighs :) Now, I am in search of a 5 month picture of Aaron to really compare!

I LOVE CEREAL!!!

Carter finally had his first taste of cereal Thursday night and he LOVED it!!  Won't be much longer and we will start on fruits & veggies!!!

Fun at the beach!!

We took our 1st family vacation this past week.  Carter was fantastic!  The beach with a baby is much different,...so long to hanging out on the beach all day and hello to early morning & late afternoon beach time, but I wouldn't trade it for the world!  Carter loved the sand -- it didn't bother him a bit! Unfortunately, he didn't get to put his feet in the ocean because it was full of nasty seaweed!   We are looking forward to many more beach trips!

  

I love the pool -- too bad this was as far as he got in.  The only day he didn't wear his bathing suit!

After we left Destin, we headed over to Panama City Beach to hang out with Uncle Andy & Aunt Amber, but I think Carter was most excited to see Tybee!  To say he loved Tybee is an understatement! Carter laughed every time Tybee barked!  It was too cute :)  THANK YOU Andy & Amber for letting us crash at your place for a night -- we enjoyed it and can't wait to come back!

A weekend of fun....

We had a great weekend.....it started off with Carter dressed in his orange & white to cheer on the VOLS!

We had a little picture taking fun after church since he looked so cute in his turtle outfit

After lunch, we decided to head downtown and walk around.  It was a beautiful day to be outside!

After downtown, we headed to the UT Gardens.  It was great day!

All the excitement made Carter a little sleepy :)

Rub-a-dub

I am 5 months old today!!!

I say this every month, but Carter is growing up so fast.  It's amazing how fast time flies now.  He is a joy to be around and we feel so blessed with him in our lives.  He brings so much happiness and just lights up our world!

Here's what Carter has been up to the past month:

• is a VERY happy baby -- smiles all the time
• laughs out loud - it's the sweetest sound and if he really gets going, he gets the hiccups!
• is VERY active -- he now tries to roll over on the changing table and even in the bathtub!

• he still LOVES bath time!  He splashes and kicks and makes a huge mess, but it's worth it!
• LOVES to be outside.  If he is ever fussy, just open the door and he becomes a happy baby.  He must get that from his mommy :)  We are looking forward to cooler temps, so we can enjoy the outdoors a little more
• wishes he could sit up and he can with help
• he likes to "talk" and make funny noices
• is starting to love his exersaucer
• he sleeps great at night -- although he still likes to be a night owl, but we are working on that!
• takes a 2 - 2 1/2 hour morning nap and we are working on a longer nap in the afternoon, but I will take the 40 min nap over no nap at all!
• sleeps on his tummy about 95% of the time now

• can now eat his toes!

• reaches for toys and can grasp them well -- right now he favors his left hand, so we shall see if we have a lefty on our hands.
• we haven't started cereal yet, but will do so soon.  He obviously isn't starving!
• rolls over from back to tummy, tummy to back, back to tummy, tummy to back....rolls all over the floor.  It's cute to watch!
• stayed with his first babysitter that wasn't a family member and he did great!
