Race for the Cure

Yesterday was Carter's first time to participate in the Race for the Cure!  He did great, despite the cold weather!    He stayed nice and warm all bundled up and looked cute, too!

We are so proud to continue on the tradition of participating in the race...my mom would be so proud of each of us!

The other day, I went to check on Carter during nap time and this is what I found.....

He is going to be a hand full!  I guess the bumpers will have to come out sooner than I had planned!  Yesterday he untied the string and was chewing on it : ) He's a mess!

Happy Birthday, Papa!!!!  Thank you for being such a great Papa!  I couldn't have asked for a better one!  Thank you for teaching me about airplanes, trucks & how to get my hands dirty!

Pumpkin Patch & Papa

Aaron & I took Carter to the pumpkin patch this afternoon -- he loved the pumpkins, but he loved watching the cars drive by more than anything!  We are getting geared up for Carter's 1st Halloween!!!

After the pumpkin patch, we headed over for a visit with Papa!  Carter LOVES his Papa -- maybe it's because he lets him get away with anything, but thats what Papas are for!   :)

I think it's time for a highchair!!  Carter loves to sit up in his bouncy during mealtime!  

The other night, Aaron handed Carter his elephant toy that plays music and he decided to give it a big hug....glad I had the camera close by :)

Aaron took last Friday off and we decided to get outside and enjoy the beautiful day.  We pulled out our picnic blanket and played :) I am so glad that Carter enjoys being outside as much as Aaron & I do!!

this is how I found Carter this morning.....

I miss my mom.....

I can't believe that 5 years ago, I lost the most important lady in my life.  I will never forget that day and the days leading up to it.  I will be forever grateful for the time I was able to spend with my mom before she died.  There were definitely good days and bad days....days I thought I would pull my hair out, but there was never a day that I wasn't proud to be her daughter and caregiver.  I love you mom and miss you more than you will ever know -- you were and always will be my strength and role model.  I know you are in a better place. I only wish you were here to hold your precious grandson.  I know you are looking down on us and I know you are proud of the mother that I am.   I only hope that I can be half the mother to Carter that you were to me.  I love you and think about you all the time!!!!!!!!!

to my tummy!!  Carter had his first bite of green beans last night and overall, he liked them!  We have a few more nights of green beans, then we will try some peas.  He made some pretty cute faces during his dinner!

6 Months Already!?!?!

Happy 6th Month Birthday to my sweet baby boy!  I can't believe that it's already been 1/2 a year since this sweet little guy came into our lives!  I can't imagine my world without Carter --- he is the best baby and he continues to amaze me everyday!

Here is what Carter has been up to this month:

• Weight - 17lbs 3oz - 45%   Length - 26 3/4 - 50%
• started cereal and he loves it!  He eats cereal in the morning and in the evening -- he gets to start on veggies & fruit very soon!!  
• he can sit up on his own for short periods of time!

Look at me!  I am sitting up like a big boy!!!

• still loves to be outside!!!
• loves to watch Lexie now, but she won't give him the time of day :(  It makes us really miss Lilly --- I know Carter & Lilly would have been BIG buddies.
• loves to watch cars drive by -- kicks his legs and moves his arms in excitement!
• loves for me to sing Old McDonald had a Farm - especially when you say cow -- with a moo moo here and a moo moo there...he smiles so big!
• took his first trip to the beach 
• is all over the place -- he doesn't stay on his pallet much anymore!

• continues to be a HAPPY baby!  
• loves bathtime and makes the biggest mess with water!  it's almost time to move from the kitchen sink to the big tub!
• is a great sleeper at night and takes great naps during the day...most of the time!
• has the sweetest giggle!! 
• chews on EVERYTHING!!  wonder when a tooth will appear?!

• loves to play peek-a-boo
• loves his new teether...Sophie the giraffe!  

We love you so much Carter and look forward to what the next 6 months have in store for us!!  Thank you for bringing such happiness to our lives.  We are so lucky!
